The College of Applied Science, Kuzhalmannam, Kottayi managed by Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD) Government of Kerala, is situated in Kottayi village near to Kottayi Panchayat Office in Palakkad district. This is an Arts and Science college affiliated to the University of Calicut. Established in July 2008 , the college offers 4 year UG programs in B.Com Honours ( Existing Sepcialisation Computer Application ) ,B.Sc Computer Science Honours and B.Sc Electronics Honours and under CUFYUGP scheme from 2024-25 academic year.
The place Kottayi is best known as the birthplace of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar , a legendary Carnatic musician and the institution is situated close to the heritage site of Chembai Village .The village has a strong cultural and musical heritage attracting classical music enthusiasts. Kottayi is also known for its serene rural landscape with a calm atmosphere conducive to a peaceful and effective learning environment.
