Volunteers from CAS Kuzhalmannam NSS Unit 86 actively participated in the district-level Mega Cleaning Drive organized by the IHRD NSS Cell in connection with Swachhata Hi Seva, Gandhi Jayanti, and Kartavya Week. The surroundings of the Olavakkode Railway Station were cleaned as part of the drive, which brought together NSS (IHRD) units across Palakkad district.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Krishnadas, Vice Chairman of Palakkad Municipality. The inaugural session was presided over by Mrs. Nimisha, NSS Programme Officer, CAS Kuzhalmannam, and Palakkad District Coordinator, IHRD NSS Cell. Mr. Sajeesh, NSS Programme Officer, MRPC Kuzhalmannam, delivered the welcome address.
Mr. Chandan Kumar (DEHM, Palakkad Railway), Mrs. Shubha Kumar (AOM), Mr. Vijayan (Station Manager), Mrs. Rathi (Head of the Health Department), Mrs. Soumya (Health Inspector), and NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Gaurikutty and Mrs. Aswathi from CAS Vadakkanchery offered felicitations. Mr. Rajeev, NSS Programme Officer, CAS Ayalur, proposed the vote of thanks.
Following the inaugural session, the NSS volunteers took the Swachhata Pledge and began the cleaning activities.
